Unable to determine the status of application

Here's the scoop:

*Went for personal interview first week of Oct
*I was informed then that I would know the result by week after
*A week after they call one of my professional reference

Now here's what I did

*Send a thank you letter to the interviewer regarding the interview and also add to my letter that to inform me whatever there decision is regarding the hiring process
*After the week that suppose I should be inform about the status I tried to call the interviewer which is the VP of IT of the company I applied unfortunately i couldnt get through so i leave a voice message
*I tried to call her back again the next day thru her cell but still a voice message and leave again a message hoping that she would get it, Until now its already 2 weeks after my interview and still no reply by phone or email. The thing is i cant get through to HR department which would be my next prospect for follow up.

What do you think would be my best next move? All i want to know is just the status of my application. And what can you say about this situation of mine. Thanks!!!
