in MCDST
I'm planning on taking my MCP for 2000, but would it be worth just getting my MCDST instead? Would that count as Two then?
MCP & MCDST?
MCP & MCDST?

All MCDST are MCPs, do you mean MCSA on 2000?
I see that you have 210,
so if you go for 215, and 218, and you get 271, 272 for MCDST. you will have:
MCP
MCDST

Orion82698 Member Posts: 483I apologize for the confusion.
I don't have my MCP in 2000, but I'm studying for it.
however, my company would like to see my get my MCP and MCDST.
So, that's why I'm asking, does taking JUST the MCDST count for both the MCP as well?WIP Vacation ;-)

well, the simple answer is yes.
The more technical answer is that, you cant JUST take MCDST, because you need 2 exams for MCDST, and MCP is only 1 exam.
When you have 210, you are already MCP, you cant have "2 MCP". When you pass 271, and 272, you will have MCDST.Jack of all trades, master of none -
Orion82698 Member Posts: 483Gotcha.
yeah, I was going to take the 70-271 and 272 for the MCDST, but I wanted to know take these first if it gave me both the MCP and MCDST to make my company happy.
I would do the 70-210 aftwards, but I know I'll already be MCP, it will just be a little extra pay for the extra cert.
Thanks man!WIP Vacation ;-)

If your company just wants to you have MCP and MCDST, and you guys use mostly XP client, I would just forget about 210.Jack of all trades, master of none -
Orion82698 Member Posts: 483Well, Yes.
1. I took a class a few years back, and would like to get my money back from that test, and plus... they pay me for every cert.
2. Our network is still mixed between XP's and 2000's, so it would benifit me to have the 210.
Oh yeah, did I mention is pay me moreWIP Vacation ;-)
