Prepping for the beast

Morning All,

Just passed 216 on Friday, and getting set for the beast. I know this is a very open ended question, but how long would you say it takes to study for the above ? I'd be able to spend about 7hrs a week studying for it.

Reason for asking, is that up here in sunny Scotland, there is only 1 local test site and due to HR problems, its only "Open" for tests 1 day a month. And the next available date is early November, if i dont go there its a 250ml round trip to Glasgow to sit it....

Any other advice, greatly received.

I haven't started on the MCSE course yet, so I can't tell you how long it will take. But good luck, I hear they don't call it "the beast" for nothing.

Mikiemov you should be fine by November if you put in the 7hrs per week!

I would suggest you book it as you can always change the date with 48 hours notice (i think) if you feel at that time your NOT ready!

Yep, have decided to go for it in early Nov. Its going to be horrible...but at least there is MCSA at the end of it and hopefully a "token" pay rise en route to MCSE...

I will do what i usually do and study for about 4 days, putting in a good 3-4 hours each day then from where i am at at the end of that i can usually gage how far in advance to book the exam!

I had planned to tackle all 3 (215, 218 and 216) within a 6 week period and i am on course prety much done server after 2 weeks then 218 2 weeks after that, however i might put the beast back a bit to make absolutely sure i am prepared for the fight
