How difficult?

in Linux+
Hi, I have been looking at taking the Linux+ test for a while now. Currently I work on a large network, most of our servers are Fedora Core. I have an ok grasp on networking with Linux, as well I know the basics, like moving files, setting permissions, some of the utilities eg: grep and others, writing scripts, etc.
I've been using Linux for probably 2 years. I am far from an expert, but I do know a bit. I've read several books on Linux as well.
I'm just wondering how difficult this test is to pass? Do you think I would pass with a little bit of study, or would this be lots of work?

Robhogg Member Posts: 6 ■□□□□□□□□□I have just passed the exam (yesterday). I was not that confident beforehand, as although I have a couple of years experience with Linux, I hadn't spent that much time on preparation.
As it turned out, I passed by a fair margin (740 - pass grade is 675), even though there were quite a number of questions where I had to make an educated guess (and two or three where I had to take a complete guess).
From what you say about your experience, I would think that with a good self-study guide you should be able to prepare in a reasonably short time (a few days of intensive study / a few weeks of more relaxed study, perhaps less). I used Roderick W. Smith's Linux+ Study Guide (3rd edn) (Sybex), which I found to be pretty good.
Hope this helps,
Rob
