Boot sequence of the router

Hi All
I wish u r all in very good health. I have question about boot sequence of cisco routers and wish u could help me.
when the router boot , it first search for IOS image in Flash , and if it didn't find , it try to get from TFTP server , then if it didn't find , it will boot from limited IOS image in ROM.
I have 2 routers one 2610 and the other 1610, when i erase IOS , it boot to ROM Monitor mode. I expect it will boot from Limited IOS image in the ROM.
My question is: Does Rom Moniter mode and the Limited IOS Image in the ROM is the same thing or their is error any where ????

The 2500 series has the limited IOS in the ROM BIOS chips... the 2600 series does not. In most other routers you are stuck with just ROMMON.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set!
