I was thinking about taking it but that high passing mark scared me off. It is also the most expensive to write out of the four. Linux+ you need about a 75% mark to pass I have not taken it so I don't know how hard it is. Network+ and A+ are about the same difficulty wise and you only need a 65% to pass. A+ is two tests while Network+ is only one.
A+ is a good exam to write first. Hope that helps. -

How diifficult is Network + to study for and pass,
is it more technical issues and details. It would
be nice to study for something that provides a
great deal of interest and varied subjects. Which
do you recommend of these four mentioned earlier
I've already pass hardware a+. thanks RicRichard Krenzel -
dabve3 Member Posts: 77 ■■□□□□□□□□I found Network+ pretty easy to study for. I read through the Sybex book in a few weeks and then did practice questions for a week. Network+ is vendor neutral so you need to know the basics for networking with Novell, Linux, Macs and of course Windows. Also need to know about the different kinds of cabling, topologies and the OSI 7 layer networking model. Some basic network security and troubleshooting tools.
If you can pass A+ you can definitely pass Network+. I would recommend finishing the software part of your A+ first then go for Network+. I would only go for Linux+ if you plan on working with Linux. I wouldn't try Security+ unless you plan on becoming a security specialist.
You can see the whole list of objectives for all the comptia exams at http://www.comptia.org -
