Helping my wife understand the Quest...
A little background info...I had to teach my wife how to use email. That should shed some light on my situation. Anyway, does anyone know of a good article that explains in laymens terms the journey required to obtain a CCIE#? Also, the rewards that come with completion...

So, You Want To Be a CCIE? Great article about the road to CCIE by Scott Morris. Make sure you read both parts.
As for the rewards, check out The true life adventures of... Max Throughput, CCIE
There are the CCIE Case Studies on the Cisco CCIE website.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

February 2006; Network World: “CCIE: Talk about a Stress Test”
I think this is the one that mentions "One person has taken it 19 times and still hasn't passed." Also mentions some of the co$t$. Might not be a good one to show the wife....
The links to an old salary survey is also on the News and Announcements page....:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

I know you should take salary charts with a grain of salt - but there were a few that REALLY made me
Some highlights:
A+ = $52K
N+ = $52K
Server+ = $58K
MCP = $61K (MCSA was at $60K - that make any sense??)
I understand a big thing is that these charts are to be paired with work experience - but geez - I wish I could make $50+ with just a N+ -
