Modem sharing on client pc's
is it possible to share a modem from a client pc running xp s oanother client pc can use that modem to use Fax software such as winfax on their client pc which has no modem?

Although WinFax Pro V10 was supposed to be able to use a single computer's modem to share for faxing purposes, it seems that folks have run into problems.All things are possible, only believe. -

kovo Member Posts: 122Thats it i got a client who has winfax running on a pc and another client who has just got winfax but has no modem. I was hoping to somehow share the other clients modem so they both can use winfax off the one modem.

RussS Member Posts: 2,068 ■■■□□□□□□□Yes you should be able to do that for outgoing faxes. Use the ICW and configure modem sharingn there then point Winfax to that connection.www.supercross.com

kovo Member Posts: 122The 2 pcs are part of a Domain and i wouldnt want to use ICS when they use the LAN for Internet connectivity. WOuld ICS be used just for winfax to get out on modem, cause i wouldnt like changin the IP of each pc as they get their internet connection from as part of a LAN
