Yes it is im afraid, unless your on a very well paid wage, you can forget living in london, best to commute in from one of the "cheaper" areas around london into work, I know many many people do.

How does London compare to living in places like NYC? I have a few buddies in Jersey city that shell out maybe $1500 a month and they need a roommate to keep up with the costs... They work in NYC but gotta live just outside of it...
