JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,092 AdminIrDA does not interfere with 802.11 because it transmits using Infrared light wavelengths, which are much lower in the EM spectrum than the microwave wavelengths in the UNII and ISM bands used by 802.11.
Bluetooth, however can interfere heavily with 802.11 because it uses FHSS transmission, which by their nature can greatly disrupt DSSS and ODFM transmissions. Bluetooth transmissions are typically very low in power (<20mW) and are usually not a problem to 802.11 networks, unless there are a lot of Bluetooth devices chattering away to each other.
