How to start?

Hi all,
am a software developer using c++ and vc++. am thinking about having career change, to be more clear am planning to enter the network world. but am not sure how i have to start.
Already i bought the mcse2003 microsoft self study kit and start reading. also i got an offer to start a training in the wireless network in a way to get the cwsp certificate.
i think that am not sure what i have to decide to do.

sthomas Member Posts: 1,240 ■■■□□□□□□□It sounds like you are off to a good start. You might check out CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications first which also count toward MCSA. Then take a look at CompTIA Security+ which also counts towards MCSE. Good luck with your career.Working on: MCSA 2012 R2

I prefer self study by having all needed resource...thats why i bought two PCs with the mcse2003 learning kit.
what do u think about that.... is it possible to pass the exams and built a good knowledge in that way?
If so do u recommend any materials, tutorials, books, or e-books?

i would suggest tht you get some video training to make up for experience tht you prob don't have >> CBT Nuggets and/or Trainsignal -

I studied for my MCSA and currently studying MCSE via self study. That is how I passed all of my certifications with the exception of Network+. Check out these links for free MCSA/MCSE study materials. Also, in my opinion the Microsoft Press books are the best to use when studying for MCSA/MCSE. Hope that helps.
