Need help with IOS upgrade on 2960

in CCNA & CCENT
I am using pumpkin as my tftp server.
I am using a console cable to connect to the swtich, however i cannot confirm ip connectivity when i try to ping my computers IP from priv exec mode.
I can ping the switch fine from the tftp server, im lost to as why it won't work.
This probably is a stupid question and bomb on me if it is but im blooming tired

Well today I did things I havent done hands on previously. Which is good I guess...I mean its simple stuff and the configuration part ive done previously of course (with the cccna) but the image (overwrite flag through archive command) over TFTP to the switch was new.
