I was wondering if there is any good video guides i can pick up online to learn for this test? Mainly i have a hard time really reading the book for a long time, i maybe get done with one page and want to fall asleep. Also i would like to know if the test software that came with the book from microsoft is a good test to practice with and help me pass? Any other suggestions would help. I did look on google and found a couple but i'm really kind of scared that some of them might not help me at all.

What book are you using? Do you have any experience administering XP?

You can check out CBT nuggets for videos. Also check out some of the free practice tests that myself and SirDrago listed in a few threads down.

I used Sybex for the book and also used Transcenders and MeasureUp for the practice exams. MS recommends MeasureUP. It was very similar to what I saw on the exam (not question for question) but really got me prepared as for what to expect.

MS press is also a good book to use.

I have the MCDST exam 70-271 supporting users and troubleshooting a microsoft windows xp operating system book from microsoft. The practice test that came with the book is all to easy with me getting above 80% each time i take the random test. I also work been working as a DST for about 7 months over the telephone and took a class about 5 years ago from NIT in network administration. I do know some of windows XP but there is somethings that my job don't cover or the class covered.

Well, you're going to run into that. It's the microsoft way. Not every company uses MS stuff.. most use third party utilities.

Remote desktop and Remote assistance is a must for this test. For 272, know Outlook express, Office, and IE. 271 will hit a lot on permissions, installing configuration, desktop settings.. stuff like that.
