New Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician
I passed my exam 70-272 today with a score of 918, hooah! My impressions of the test was it was quite easy, though when i pressed submit, i still had this nervous feeling i might have failed somehow, too many questions wrong or something, but thankfully it was all good. Lots of Remote Desktop questions, not that many questions on specifs of microsoft office. I remember half way through the exam i was wondering if i read the remote desktop questions the wrong way, like which computer is connecting to which in remote desktop, but i didnt panick, i went with what my brain told me, and it paid off. I'm real happy with the score, and now i'm a MCDST, whoohoo! This will look great with my I.T Support Specialist job i got in August of 2006
Thanks to everybody here who answered my questions and provided insightful support.

I could go for a security cert, security always looks good to add to ur resume

I would still go for MCSA. You're 2 away from it, and that could really help further you in your current position, and future.
All you would really need is a few machines and trial copies of 2003 server
You can do it!!WIP Vacation ;-)

Slowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 ModCongratulations! Whatever you choose to do next, good luck. I could recommend something like one of the CompTIA exams, like Security+ if you're looking to get into security, or Linux+ if you want to broaden your skills as a helpdesk tech. Of course, A+ and Net+ aren't bad ideas, either.

win2k8 Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 262To study i used the sybex MCDST book, 70-270 technotes on this website, make sure u look at the Remote Desktop and Firewall sections on these technotes, i know for fact atleast 5 questions on the exam you could know the answer if you just looked over these technotes. I used free websites that provided practice exams. I used the 70-270 practice exam on this website and http://www.certquest.net/ is very good free source for MCDST practice questions, and last but certainly not least, is experience. Going through the menus, toolbars, settings, etc.. in Windows XP and Microsoft Office, plus having about 6 months experience on the job as a desktop support specialist really helped me in terms of my confidence. I hope this helped describe what I used to study.
Thanks to everyone for their congratulations, I will decide in a week or so where i will go now in my IT certification path. -
