I was wondering when you become a mcp...Lets say you pass your 70-270. Does microsoft send you a physical certificate..or its simply stated that your a mcp..If it is just stated or not do you have access to download mcp cert logos like comptia and cisco.

yes you receive a certificate in the welcome kit they send through the post, which includes the certificate, a lapel pin, MCP Card and some other bits.

you will also receive another for passing MCSA, MCSE and the specialisations and any other full certs you gain but not per exam, you may need to request the welcome kit when you pass by logging into the MCP site.

They send you a 11"x8" certification.
    A MCP Pin.
    A MCP identification card.

It takes a little while to send it out but they usually are pretty good about it.

you have to confirm your address through the member's site before they send you anything.

    ps. the certificate is 8½ x 11, not 8 x 11.

Shortly after passing your first test (llike 3-4 days), you should get an e-mail from Microsoft with your code to log into the MCP site. Once you log in, you have to request your MCP Welcome Kit, or it will not be sent to you. Mine came in like 2 weeks, but I hear that's much faster than the average time.

I was reading somewhere about two months ago that microsoft was going to quit sending all that stuff when you passed your mcp. It stated that you would get your certificate and maybe the card. I remember it specifically stating that the were going to drop the lapel pin and something else. The reason stated was that they had some kind of survey and people stated that they could care less about the pin( that is was unimportant to them).

I found this link on another site, it tells you what you can expect to get:

it's not surprising that such a detail is often overlooked.

I'm going to generalize and assume that this is the case with most other cities also:
In my location, 8 x 11 frames cost WAY less than 8½ x 11, no idea why, but every place I go to, I have to pay almost double the price for 8½ x 11.

ps. Notify your local post office to KEEP the kit and not try to stick it in your mailbox....the kit should say DO NOT BEND in bold red letters, but too many times than not people bend your certificate and try to stick it in your mailbox.
