Alright, I have read the chapter, and I am still not sure on this wording. Found on page 110, Cisco Intro Exam certification guide.
"Router1 strips the Ethernet header and trailer off the frame received from PC1 never to be used again"
So they are taking the mac address and CRC off, right?

That's correct. The router then encapsulates the packet in a new Layer 2 frame with the next hop destination mac address.
The Layer 3 packet (and everything above it) is left un-touched.
