I have taken the MCSE 2000 course in 2001 and written 6 papers successfully in 2002.
I did not write 70-216 till now. If I prepare and write the exam now, will I be eligible for the MCSE 2000 Certification?

And since now updated certifications like MCSE 2003 has come by, when is it likely that certifications like MCSE 2000 will go retired? Do you have any info on this? -
tibul Member Posts: 240Microsoft will always give atleast 1 years notice if they are going to retire an exam, they have a page specifically for providing information on when an exam will be retired.
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcpexams/status/examstoretire.mspx
and as you can see there are no exams currently scheduled for retirment, so you will be fine for probably atleast another 2 years yet on the 2000 stuff.
so you can easy finish your MCSE cert and upgrade your cert with 70-292 and 70-296 exam if you want MCSE in 2003 aswell.Studying 70-292.
Aiming for MCSA: Security and 2003 upgrade.
