640-821 (INTRO) OR 640-801?

I am study Sybex golden Edition (it is missing NAT), using Boson sim and One Router 2501.

I already completed the book, in this moment I am reviewing all the chaptes, I do not have the oportunity to configure the real router (in production).

Some times I feel that I do not know everything of the book. I feel that I forget some staff.

I am thinking to stop and set all my efforts to study for the INTRO and try to master it or wait a little more and do the 801 exam.

I began to study at the begining of the last December 2006.

Waht do you recommend me?

Also, How long did you study for the 801 exam?

For myself, I think that.....
one exam is good because you write it once, and you're (potentially) set and done with

on the other hand,

two exam is good also because you (should) have a better chance of passing each exam in one go, and you are (more) likely to remember the material because you have (likely) spent more time preparing.


I'm almost sure I'm going to write 821 by Feb, otherwise I might write 801 sometime in March or April.

I really feel like an idiot because I have been studying and taking this exam for almost a year now. I took the 640-801 exam 4 times and failed. I was about to give up but I remember, that when I took NT4.0 I failed the server exam on the first time and never went back to take it. 8 years later if I did I would probably be in a better place than I am now. I would say to take the 640-801 exam only if your absolutely sure if you're going to pass, and have actual work experience in the field. I myself have changed focus and go with the two exam approach so I can narrow down my weaknessess (if that's even a word!LOL) I know that I know the work, I'm starting to think that maybe it's the way the questions are proposed or maybe that I'm just not good at taking tests, but even if I have to take it 10 times it will be worth it in the end. Keep studying and good luck
