There will surely be an upgrade path to MCSE 2007 for all the current MSCE 2003 It professionals out there?

Why not?

For the MCDST there's an upgrade to the MCITP Enterprise Tech, I can only assume that there'll be an upgrade path, something like: MCSE -> MCITP Enterprise Support Engineer (maybe)

Like NinjaBoy said there will be an upgrade path from MCSE 2003 to Server 2007 cert. The cert will be MCITP and one can only guess what it will be called. Maybe MCITP: Systems Engineer?

It won't be called anything Engineer from what I have heard from Microsoft. The whole point of them going away from MCSE is to go away from calling an IT Professional an engineer.
