IIS Virtual Directories

nuglobenuglobe Member Posts: 190
Say that I have created a site in IIS that maps www.moo.com to c:\website. I don't have to create virtual directories to have www.moo.com/about go to c:\website\about, correct?

I would only use it if I wanted www.moo.com/secret to be mapped to c:\corp\secretstash.

The wording in my book is just strange.

Yeah, I have no relation to moo.com. I was just picking something random. icon_lol.gif

You are correct. You are able to install IIS on Windows XP. Feel free to test it out yourself so you have a better understanding of how it works and t he options you have while doing it.

Muhaha. My work set me up with a IBM xseries server at work (data center). Its behind a firewall, and I get 100mb connection. Balanced out between our 4 oc-12s. I just wanted to clear that up. I will get to installing it a little later.
