Failed backup

Heres a good one. At work i am trying to back up 2 storage groups. Management storage group and Finance storage group but when i try and back up both it fails. When i back them up individually it works. Now the size of both storage groups would fit easily onto my tape. Any ideas as this is driving me mad.
