Good Day,
I am trying to build a server using a 1U case, I have tried to get my hands on an AM2 cooler that is low profile (1U) to fit in this case, however I am unable to source one. I have however seen socket 940 coolers and I was wondering if those could be used as well. Can anyone assist me?

TechJunky Member Posts: 881You are trying to build a server in a 1u case... Why AMD? They run hotter at 90nm...
I would suggest building a new C2D box if you can, or get a 65nm athalon processor.
What socket are you referring to for the amd? Socket 939? Socket am2? This would help us better decide the heatsink to fit your needs. -

'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.... weird? -
adrianmcmillan Member Posts: 17 ■□□□□□□□□□Thanks guys for your help, however I guess what I am trying to get at is if a 940 cpu cooler can be used for an AM2 cpu. Specifically in 1U and 2U cases. I am building a low cost server using dual core AM2 athlon which use 65Watts of power. Excessive heat should not be an issue using these CPUs with the ADO
prefix. Thanks.
