I don't think so. What are you looking for, just a machine that is pre-setup for you? If you use VMWare, there are downloadable Linux "appliances" you can run on your Windows machine. Many Linux distributions also have "Live Cd" versions where you can just pop in a CD and run linux by booting to the CD.

Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
    Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...

Could someone sum up the costs of VMware? I know there are a number of versions available, but what if you want a standard one without all the bells and whistles?

I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, maybe something like this http://www.cygwin.com/ will help?

    Install VMWare Server - http://www.vmware.com/products/server/

    then

Register on the site to get a licence key and activate the software

    then

create a window and install Ubuntu - http://www.ubuntu.com/products/GetUbuntu/download?action=show&redirect=download

Takes a little while but it's all absolutely free.

I have just done it tonight and works a treat. My 768 mb is suffering though... Upgrade time. 1gb-2gb would be good.
    Kam.
