Quick question about dynamic drives (Spanned and Striped)

RulkiewiczRulkiewicz Member Posts: 29 ■□□□□□□□□□
To span or strip a drive, do you need 2 or more "physical" drives, or could you create two volumes from one drive and do the same thing... which doesn't really make sense to me.

Thanks in advance!

You need 2 physical drives to span or stripe.
A single dynamic disk with multiple partitions can have one of the non-system partitions extended (simple volume) by using unpartitioned space on the same drive. However, that would only be done in the case of poor planning when originally setting things up....
All things are possible, only believe.

Do you completely understand the performance impact of a spanned or striped drive? If you understood that, then you could really answer your own question. (sorry if it sounded snotty :)
