Slowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 ModYes, you heard correctly. To become A+ certified, you'll have to take the 220-601 along with at least one of the other tests. The designation you'll receive depends on the elective you take: if you take 220-602, you'll be an A+ IT Technician, if you take 220-603 you become an A+ Remote Support Technician ,and if you take 220-604 you'll be an A+ Depot Technician.
From what I can tell, the designation that is the most similar to the old A+ is the IT Technician speciality. Although, when I worked at a place that required A+ certification, I suppose I was considered more of a Depot Technician.

i was going for my A+ but when i heard about it, i thought lets do the newer ones.
i also heard it concentrates more on "soft skills".. than the IRQ's, or how many beeps means what.
