I have an ibook g4 as well as a desktop pc. I am waiting for my routers to come in and then setting up my lab. I am assuming I will not have any problems using a mac and pc on the same network, but are there any good mac terminals you can recommend? Thanks.

I could be wrong but isn't it based on bsd? you could probably use any open source *nix app on it, no?

yeah it is based on bsd, not sure what *nix is though. I have some experience in unix but not very in depth.

I use zterm for console access and the os x terminal for telnetting to routers & switches.

if you need to access router console from ibook, you'll need to buy compatible USB to serial adaptor, rollover cable and a terminal software capable of using your USB-Serial adaptor. because new world mac's aint got any serial ports. (well, except the X serves).

you won't have any problems using any mixed network.
