Hi I was upgrading the ios on my 2521 router. The flash had two partitions and the ios was stored on one of then I successfully managed to erase the old ios and make one partition then upgraded the new image over tftp. When it had finished downloading I reloaded the router for the new settings to take affect, but upon boot up it said something about needing to erase flash as there was an error. Although it mentioned this error it still loaded ok but when I entered “show flash” it came back as unrecognised (the configuration-registry settings were 0x2102 ) and it would show other commands but not flash. I then tried to load the image again but for numerous reasons it would not allow me to but it did delete the flash then restarted in boot mode. I then set the registry settings to 0x2100 thinking it would reload in rom mode.
But instead this is where I am now

I don’t know what mode this is as I have never came across it before so am unsure of how to proceed .
If anyone could offer me any help or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful
many thanks

All ok I figured it out from this mode (still don’t know what mode it was though) I did the following
O to get the configuration-settings
Bit#13 = to return to boot mode
Then from boot mode just up loaded a new image and everything went fine this time.
But for some reason when I type “show flash” it comes back as a unrecognised command and if I type show? And look through the list it does not mention flash there. But apart from this everything else works ok. The flash image is c2500-is-l.123-5b.bin. I have another couple of images I got for this router would it be worth my time trying one of them out?
Hell it took me 2 minutes to type this out but about 2 ½ hours to work it out something not adding up there
thanks anyway -
