oh crud

I got my 3 2924's in yesterday. anyway, i went to power them up and they're password protected. The guy who sold them to me told gave me 2 passwords to try, and i'll do that tommorow, but just incase i can't get into them, how do i reset the password?

    If i was you i'd try to save the config off of it so that way you can learn what type of configuration the switch was preforming before it was sold to you :)

    It always helps when exploring new stuff ;)

    so i don't have to do ctrl+break, just hit the mdoe button when i power it on?

    Funny you should mention... One of my 4500's was doing VLAN's for something in the 30.12.x.x range ;) ... Funny people. I also bought some 1924's that were doing switching for some company doing something with Niagra Falls. How stran9e is that

    That's what I did when I performed the recovery on my switch 2 weeks ago...

    I usually only buy equipment which has the configs wiped, because I'm going to wind up reloading the OS anyway.

    yea, that happened to me a while back on a couple of switches, but i tried for a minute and the password was CCNAPASSED . most just make it ccna or cisco
