Hey old timer,
I passed CCNA 7 years ago too.
Go get the Todd Laemlle Sybex book and take the 801 exam.
I bought Cisco press books and passed taking both exams(which is a good way to go), but after hearing everyone on this site all you need is Laemlle's book to pass the 801.
If you want the quick method get Laemlle and take one exam.
If you want the thorough method take both exams and get Cisco Press.
Cisco press CCNA books are good but they put me to sleep, very boring author IMO. I have read better Cisco press books 5 years ago at CCNP level.
