Help me recover a password on a 2900 series switch

On the surface this seems like a newbie question, but its really pretty tough. I'm trying to install IOS on a WS-C2908-XL (just IOS 11.x since it doesn't have enough memory for 12.x) but I get a permission denied error on the boot loader screen. I tried the password recovery procedure found here: click me but I don't have config.text in my flash directory so I can't proceed. There's no version of IOS installed in flash either, so even the boot command is worthless.
Does anyone have a suggestion? I've tried everything I can think of

Paul Boz Member Posts: 2,620 ■■■■■■■■□□I'm at the tail end of a shift at work (got about an hour and a half to go thank god) in which about 10 of my field sites were on battery backup due to the thrashing Louisiana just took from the weather. I don't have it in me to even bother with it right now, but I'll definitely try this tomorrow night!
Thanks much.CCNP | CCIP | CCDP | CCNA, CCDA

I'm also not worried about xfer speed because my shifts are 12 hours a piece, so it's a complete non-issue!
Thanks again for the help darby, your IE thread is encouragingCCNP | CCIP | CCDP | CCNA, CCDA
