Linux REDHAT enterprise 5.0 - additional software packages
Hi all,
I wanna install:
mysql
apache 2.x
php 5.x
ssl (probably openssl)
on my redhat 5.0 server at work. Now im fairly sure im ok doing this without any trouble, as ive done it before (even if it was a while back) BUT i wanted to see what packages ships with the proper enterprise server package. I chose not to install the packages initially when building the installation from fresh because I was going to do it manually later anyway.
However, even when i go to the add software program when the OS is all loaded, I don't get an option to install additional packages, it only lets me search the ones I have installed already (with green ticks by them). Im curios to why this is like this....all previous test linux servers I have done at least let me choose a source to get new RPM packages from. Could this be because I havent connected the server to the internet yet to register the box? My line manager assures me he has registered our installation id for our contract anyway. Im just very very curious either way.
Hope someone can answer this for me.
Thanks in advance,

I actually got everything installed and working fine, ready to be put in our data centre.
You deffinately need to register with RHN to "browse" new packages for the server.DevOps Engineer and Security Champion. https://blog.pash.by - I am trying to find my writing style, so please bear with me.
