3620 question

Okay, i received my 3620 tonight and i'm anxious to get started and try it out, how ever, i do not currently have any flash memory for it. i can boot up into rommon so i'm wondering from here is it possible to have it load an IOS from TFTP? There is no memory but in the past i've read that you can use TFTP to load an IOS that is too big for your router (ie, loading a 26xxXM IOS onto a normal 2600)... any thoughts?

anyways, off to my OSPF labs!

I'm pretty sure you can because one of the boot process I've learned during my CCNA is that you can load the IOS from an TFTP server after it can't find any in flash.

I think you need to get to Rommon and just set it up the boot sequence to just go straight to teh TFTP server with the correct IP address that is in the same subnet and the file name as well.

well it looks like ig et to hold of on trying that for 2 reasons: i have no IOS for it, and i may be returning it. it came with a dent between the NM slots, so i can't really get a NM in one of the slots without forcing it.
