Hi Everyone,
I've searched through this forum and microsoft website about the applying credential for MCSE security.
What i am still confused is, if i have A+, Network+ and Security+
Can i use A+ and Network+ to apply for credential towards the MCSA elective? of course i can, can't i? but If i then study further and want to get MCSA/MCSE security, can I also apply my Security+ for credential?
So, in total i want to apply all those 3 comptia certifications for credentials toward MCSA/MCSE security, probably if possible the path will look like this:
For MCSA security, 270. 290, 291, (A+ and Network+), Security+
or MCSE security, the above paths with additional 2 design exams and ISA server
Your info will be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
cheers,
Andrew

Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminAs you can see on the following pages, A+ and Network+ do not apply to the Security specializations.
MCSA Security:
-> www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcsa/security/windowsserver2003.mspx
MCSE Security:
-> www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcse/security/windowsserver2003.mspx
However, you can apply A+ and Network+ to the MCSA. And then take the Security+ and ISA server to become MCSA:Security. And then add the required MCSE exams to become MCSE:Security. For example:
A+, Network+, 70-270, 70-290, 70-291 = MCSA
70-270, 70-290, 70-291, Security+, ISA server = MCSA:Security
70-270, 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, 70-294, 70-298, A+, Network+ = MCSE
70-270, 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, 70-294, 70-298, ISA server = MCSE
70-270, 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, 70-294, 70-298, ISA server, Security+ = MCSE:Security
So a possible path could be:
A+, Network+, 70-270, 70-290, 70-291 [MCSA here] Security+, ISA server [MCSA:Security here] 70-293, 70-294, 70-298 [MCSE,MCSE:Security here]
And welcome on board! -
KidChameleon Member Posts: 2 ■□□□□□□□□□Hi Webmaster,
Thank you very much for the information, so it is possible to use those 3 certification as a credential towards MCSA/E security. I thought that if we have used A+ and Net+, we can't use Sec+ anymore and vice versa. -

Is this still possible? I have had MCSA & MCSE for a while and i am interested about taking Comptia Security+. I got one Security related exam already in my MCSE path, 70-299.
I remember when i considered this couple years ago i would had to study 70-298 (designing security) AND one other security related exam to get MCSE: Security even if i had already 70-299 passed.
But.. AFAIK i would had MCSA: Security with just one more exam -like that Comptia's Security+.
I am just wondering if this is still possible or not. Old MCSA / MCSE links (like those that i just quoted in webmasters message) seems to be redirected to new MCSA solution / MCSE cloud certifications. -
