Hi there - I'm doing the Ch 3 written labs in Lammle's 5th edition CCNA Intro and encountered this question.
Written Lab 3
What is the subnet, broadcast and valid host range for:
#3. 192.168.100.66 /27
/27 = 255.255.255.224
256-224= 32
subnets (increments) should be 192.168.100.0 (and .32, .64, .96 etc)
So basically I have my answer as:
subnet of where host address resides: 192.168.100.64
valid hosts: 192.168.100.65 to .94
broadcast: 192.168.100.95
The book has the answer as:
/27 is 255.255.255.224. Fourth octet is a block size of 32. Count by 32s until you pass the host address of 66. 0, 32, 64. The host is in the .32 subnet, broadcast of 63. Valid host range is 33-62.
This has to be a typo but just want to confirm I'm not seeing things

Thanks for the fresh set of eyes -
