I know i have posted about WSUS before so my appologies but i am desperate. On my vmware network the install went fine. Got into work to install it and have been pulling my hair out ever since lol. I have installed all the correct items in order for WSUS to work but when at the very end i hit the OK button i receive an error message saying:
"An error occured when communicating with the server and this wizard must be closed. You may restrt the WSUS Configuration wizard from the Options page in the WSUS 3.0 console"
When i try to connect to the server i receive this error:
"Cannot connect to _ServerName_. The server may be using another port or a different secure sockets layer setting"
I have check IIS is running ok, and cant find any fixes for this. Any Ideas please?

Did you actually configure SSL? Did you accidentally try to use an upstream server as a source instead of Microsoft Update?We responded to the Year 2000 issue with "Y2K" solutions...isn't this the kind of thinking that got us into trouble in the first place? -

No we dont use ssl, and the WSUS is configured not to use an upstream server.

Finally got it installed , but i cant see any computers even though the gp has been configured
