Okay for those of you with the cisco press books for the cisco networking academy, this is lab companion for 3 & 4, lab 3-2.

basically you have 3 routers and 3 PCs connected to be a hub. I'm using a switch, seeing as i don't own a hub. shouldn't be a problem?

Anyway, here is the config for the routers interfaces.

R1
FA0/0: 192.168.1.1/24
Lo0: 192.168.31.11/32

R2:
E0: 192.168.1.2/24
Lo0: 192.168.31.22/32

R3:
E0: 192.168.1.3/24
Lo0: 192.168.31.33/32

In the start, you do not configure the loopback. once basic connectivity is established, you configure the loopback address, save the config, and turn the router off and then back on... Next, it has you configure the London router (R1) to always be the DR, by setting the ospf priority to 50 on the fa0/0 interface. (ip ospf priority 50), saving the config, and then restarting the routers. Unfortunately, this is not working. this is my 2nd time on this lab and both times R2 as always come out to be the DR and R1 will always be the BDR. whats up with that?

sorry if i didn't explain that too well.. i'd scan it.. if i had a scanner :P

hum. yeah i knew about setting the others priority to 0 but i will try rebooting R1 first this time.

thanks. I would set the priority to 0 but this lab will probably get turned in for a grade once i start school back, so i'm trying to get it right as the lab says :)
