SHA-WING! I bet that feels good! Don't wipe that smile off your face. whats next CCNP or CCDA?
Did you cram before the test? If so, what would you say to be the most beneficial cramming material?
There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!

Honestly, it just feels good to be done with it. Along with work and school, it's been difficult. I crammed for a week straight after work (neglecting school for the whole week). I had been through the Sybex book several times, so I went through about 70% of the Que Certification CCNA book in that time period (parts relevant to ICND). I have discovered that I like it more than the Sybex book, though it has a lot of typos. I didn't bother with the Cisco Press book's practice ICND test as I felt it overcomplicated (taking 20 minutes per answer some times). I took the practice tests offered by TechExams and that's about it. Quite a bit for a week though.

Note: Make sure your marker is VERY STRONG before you go into the exam. Half way through mine started to dry up and I moisten it with my tongue (yuck). I made sure that the marker was tossed prior to my leaving so no other poor soul would be cursed by its shortcomings.

Ya I know how you feel man. I work 40 a week as a sys. admin. Go to school 12 hours a week at ITT, Got a 4month old little boy, and study Cisco. Not enough time in a day to say the least.
For all those people out there that say they don't have time or the resources to get certified are not fooling us. But good job man!

I'm gonna take a breather and finish school up. After that I plan to tackle MCP (should be a lightweight). Then on to the next leg (CCNP). I'm looking forward to it. :D

Then (if you're interested) MCSE. I also plan to slip Linux+ in there somewhere.

Edit: And then (OMG) CCIE R&S track.

    It's gonna be a blast.

    IPRoute,

If you don't mind me asking, what state do you live in? I graduate next June, I envy you for being done. I'm in Nashville, just moved here 6 months ago from Houston. I feel like I'm going to be in school for the rest of my life. It's good you got certified before you graduated.

Indianapolis, IN. I feel ya, it's been a long haul and a rough road at times. I look forward to "getting on with my life," as my friends often say ;)

Very cool. I'm looking forward to having that same four-letter word next to my name, very soon. Congratulations on the pass, and good luck with the next exam. Incidentally, which Microsoft exam are you planning on taking?

    Free Microsoft Training: Microsoft Learn
Free PowerShell Resources: Top PowerShell Blogs
Free DevOps/Azure Resources: Visual Studio Dev Essentials

Let it never be said that I didn't do the very least I could do.

    I haven't quite decided yet.

Update: I did a bit of research. I want to have 1 MS cert (one of the exams in the MCSE process) prior to starting work on the CCNP. I'm kind of hoping to skip the MCSE exams for 2003 and instead take the exams for the Longhorn server, whenever it's released. Anyway, for my MS cert, here's what I've settled on--as it will most certainly be a requirement on the MCSE Longhorn Server process.

Exam 70-620: Configuring Windows Vista. It apparently yields the certification of: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: Windows Vista, Configuration.

You've got that right! I'm the same boat with you. Work 40 a week, go to school at night, and have a 1-yr old and 2-yr old. Also a wife who wants attention. What's free time? Study at home, study at work, study in the car..... We'll be done one day.
