Well...
I sat the INTRO 640-821 today and I pulled a 900/1000. This being my first experience with the whole Cisco world... I guess you could say I am now addicted
I considered the exam to be by far a lot harder than a Microsoft exam, especially the wording etc. I had approx 1 minute remaining when I finished...close call, but I like to take my time and double check my questions....it almost costed me though.
Material used
1. Cisco Press
2. Sybex
3. Cisco.com (The subnetting game actually made things click - Highly recommended)
Hardware used
1. 3 2500 routers - 1 of the routers had IOS version 10.. |o|
2. 1 2950 switch
Don't want to give out to much info, but here are a few key points you must must know
1. Everything to do with configuring the routers IOS,TFTP,Register, passwords, commands, and interfaces etc.
2. Lan Switching - All source / destination mac stuff.
3. Subnetting
4. Subnetting
5. Subnetting.....and I think you get the point. YOU MUST KNOW THIS INSIDE AND OUT..
Thanks once again Techexams! Going to take a 3 week break and go after the ICND NEXT BABY! I also want to give a special shout out to BMAURO on this site for some help in the past -

Congrats!
I think about preparation to CCNA. Probably will go 2 exams.
How much time took the preparation (just to have an idea).
Your opinion about simulators and real hardware?
Thanks,
Michael. -

Don't forget that this was the "easy one" -- so rest up and be prepared to kick it a couple of notches for the ICND.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -
bmauro Member Posts: 307Mike - Intro may be the easy one - but I also looked at the ICND as the "fun one"

Gratz on the pass! I can definitely vouch for the "Intro is easier" statements. Continue to study hard. Know switching (vtp/stp), routing protos, and frame relay inside and out. Good luck on the ICND.CCNP Progress

O I know I am in for a rude awakining for the ICND part
It will be a fun ride! I am going to order my books today!
It took me about 4 solid months of studying and working with labs everyday. I really tried to know everything going into the exam thats why it took me a little longer. -
