Deadmaster200 Member Posts: 145It has 2 serial ports, right? So, yeah, you can use as a frame switch between 2 routers. Not sure if that is going to do what you are needing it to do or not. If so, go for it. More than likely, you are going to need at least 4 serial ports though.

markzab Member Posts: 619Yeah, you can find a 2521 on ebay for around $40. It's got 4 serial ports."You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. kafifi13 Member Posts: 259Thanks guys. I'm bidding on one now. I got my routers in place for my lab but the switches are coming along. Got one 2924 and that's it so far. Trying to get a 2950.

mikej412 Member Posts: 10,086 ■■■■■■■■■■With a 2501 you could do a hub and spoke configuration -- but the fun is usually when you have the 2nd spoke to work with. You can still do all the confurations, but you miss a bunch if you don't have 3 routers hooked up.
You can tunnel 2 2501s together over the Ethernet and get 4 serial ports for your frame cloud that way. So you'd need to have 5 routers to do that, vs the 4 routers with the 252x.
Other option for Frame-Relay if you don't have the hardware is Dynamips/Dynagen.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set!
