thats what my boot straps looks like.

i think i have a wrong DB9-RJ45. it has a com connection for my comp, and a cable for my router.

its not a rollover though, rollover should be opposite, its not in the exact order like a patch cable, but its the same color on both sides.

and and the com , and cable is connected by this converter names, TO PC and TO FAX lol.

that wouldnt work huh?

you need to get a rollover cable... one end should be 568a and the other end should be the opposite...

    1---8
    2---7
    3---6
    4---5
    5---4
    6---3
    7---2
    8---1

also, i'm pretty sure you can use pretty much any PC power cord with a router/switch, assuming it has a internal power supply (which most seem to have them, except the smaller 1700 series and such). (i just use PC power cords for all of my routers and switches. - no issues yet.)
Fantastic. The project manager is inspired.

This issue has been discussed in one of my previous threads but I'll answer this any ways

Chances are your config register is set to a different reg then default 0x2102 (which is a
9600 baud transfer rate) Example would be 0x2124 sets the baud rate at 19200 instead of
    9600.

Visit Cisco link below to view different configuration registers and their settings.

There is no place like 127.0.0.1

Depends on the platform but it generally involves setting up a tftp server on your PC to download the new IOS image from.

Check out this URL for a detailed procedure.
