Hi,

I want to go study for the network+ exam but i need a good beginners book.
Can anybody recommend a good beginners book.
I read about the mike meyers book but he doesnt talk about apple unix and linux in the book and the book has information about the old exam and the cd that comes with the book has practice exams for the old exam.

I bought the network+ exam n10-003 book from shimonski.

Does anybody know a good book for a beginner?

Thanks

I would try a sybex book. But the Mike Meyers book is enough to pass the exam.

I really liked this book - http://www.amazon.ca/Network%2B-Exam-Cram-N10-003/dp/0789732548/ref=sr_1_5/701-3719878-0388302?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1180301319&sr=1-5 . I found it quite easy to follow and full of points of interest to focus into for the examination. Mind you, it lacks a bit on the Apple OS-X stuff, but you can use Technotes for that.

    'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.... weird?

    Thanks for the replies.

Do you think that the exam cram 2 is good for a beginner?

I read about the exam cram practice questions book but i saw that a lot of people are complaining about that book because of the erros in the questions.

I noticed that microsoft also has a network+ book does anybody have experience with that book?

    ISBN: 0470065893 / 9780470065891

    Thanks.

This Exam Cram2 book - http://www.amazon.ca/Network%2B-Exam-Cram-N10-003/dp/0789732548/ref=sr_1_5/701-3719878-0388302?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1180301319&sr=1-5 - has excellent reviews. I am even giving you my "excellent" rating as I used it to prepare for my Network+.

the exam cram book has reviews from 2004, 2003 and 2002 and the book is released in 2005

so those reviews are useless though.

on amazon.com i read that the book is riddled with errors.

I did not see anything too unusual in the book. Then again, I do have some experience in networking, so I may have missed something. However, I did get a fairly high mark, I believe, with the help of that book.
