MCSA !

Hi everyone,
I passed 70-350, ISA 2004 this morning, so I am finally MCSA !
It was for me the hardest ms exam, as I work day to day with lots of thing that were in 290 and 291...
I dont use ISA at work, so for this one it was ms-press, webcasts, self-test practices, and a 2 isa lab in my basement. (and techexams, of course!). I did not feel confident this morning, taking the exam with only lab experience, and i got my worse score to date , 735
Well, anyway, its a pass and I got good scores on 290-291-270 and 282, so....

Tonight, i'm celebrating, and hopefully tomorrow its on my transcript so I can order the (much awaited) certificate !

Well, do not underestimate this one if you dont have exp with ISA, and also do 70-291 before. I actually got many entreprise setup question involving routing or subnets, CARP, 2 questions with CRL, Lots of Q with site-to-site vpn, l2tp ipsec, pptp, NLB. I also got a Q where I was asked to find the error in a quarantine control script (vbs). 1 or 2 Q with DNS. Lots of material from 290 and 291 helped me.I dont know if I was unlucky or maybe I didnt study enough, but man ! But most important, test it and break it ! Half of the exam was finding why this or that doesnt work or whats the cause of this error message.

Thx, and yes its mcsa 2k3 (270-290-291-350). I think I am gonna try 70-293 next, I heard that there's lot of overlap with 291 on this one.... I already bought mspress and exam cram books, i am gonna starrt with those and maybe transcender, and then depends on how much work i'll need
I'd like to finish mcse in the next months.

Do yourself a favor and return MSPress and get Syngress. I read much of the MSPress for 70-293 and all of the Syngress for 70-293, and I have to say that the Syngress is much better; as most others would agree here.

Well, I retract my statement about returning the MSPress. I would purchase the Syngress and use it as your "main" book. I would have both books as there are a couple things in MSPress that are not talked about in Syngress. I think the Syngress would be sufficient in most topics by itself as you have already done your 70-291. For the newer topics such as Certificates/PKI, NLB, Clustering, Wi-Fi Security, etc., I'd recommend that you read both Syngress and MSPress for those chapters.

Ok then. I was already planning on doing that using the mspress/exam cram, but I'll switch and use syngress/mspress (just ordered it on amazon). I will also setup a new lab to play with CA/PKI, NLB and clustering. Those are thing I have worked with a bit, but not in depth, so I am definitly looking forward to break them and learn :P
I am not working next week so I should be able to put a solid 40hrs on it. I think i'll start by reviewing stuff I already know, and then I'll get to the new (fun) part.
