Some of you guys remember the pictures I posted
here particularly of the
lab in the graduate program at my school.
Well...I had applied for this program a while back (Dec '06)...it's a master of engineering specializing in computer networks, and particularly CISCO networks...$200,000+ worth of equipment donated by Cisco Canada reserved for the students.
I've always hoped to be in this program...but my marks are not that great, and they give priority to engineering students (I study computer science)...I was able to get my program vice-chair and my director here at work (which is another department at the school) to write me references...and I really poured my heart out in the statement of interest.
I did not hear back for a couple of months...and basically I began to focus more on job searching, and in 3 weeks I'll be starting a
job.
As things turn out, I GOT IN....wow...I'm very shocked and glad! It's definitely like a dream come true...I plan to switch to part-time status in the program, and since my job is also close to school, things are working out very nicely.
I know that it will be tough to work full-time and be doing grad school part-time...but I think in the end it will be worth it. Just looking at my cource selection I am excited...
