Both tests are equally covered on the composite so if you need twelve weeks to study for the BSCI and six weeks to study for the BCMSN you should probably spend 18 weeks studying for the composite. As far as I can tell, taking the composite is only a valid option if money is a concern or you have a strong working knowledge of both subjects.CCNP | CCIP | CCDP | CCNA, CCDA
CCNA Security | GSEC |GCFW | GCIH | GCIA

cisco81,
Speaking as someone who tried to take and pass only the 642-801 BSCI exam in order to recertify my CCNA, I ended up only mildly insane as well as an expired CCNA. Fortunately in the long run, my experience with the mild insanity that was OSPF and EIGRP helped me out with the 640-801 CCNA exam to recertify from scratch.
So based on my experience, my advice for you is to study for the 640-811 ICND exam in order to recertify your CCNA. Once your CCNA is solidly recertified, then ask your question again later.
I hope this helps.
