Questions about the Cisco Press book...

Just curious, but I've read the Cisco Press CCNA 1&2 and 3&4 as well as the Sybex 5th Edition.
In the Cisco Press 3&4 book, there're a few chapters that I was wondering if I'd have to read to gain information and knowledge that's pertinent to the exams.
There's -
Chapter 17: Optical Networking Fundamentals
Chapter 18: Network Management
Chapter 19: Network+ Certification Exam Review
Chapter 20: CCNA Certification Exam Review
Chapter 21: Introduction to Convered Networking
Chapter 22: Develooping Network Security and Network Management Strategies
Chapter 23: Virtual Private Networks
After reading almost 3 books, doing some of the Boson Netsims, etc. I'm wondering if these last chapters are really all that important to the exam?
I figure I read the first 16 chapters already and would skip the rest and read chapter 20 and do some practice exams, etc. I skimmed through chapter 20 to see what it covered and it didn't seem to include any information on the topics that might be covered in chapter 17, 18, 21, 22, and 23.
Would I be able to pass the CCNA exam without covering chapters 21-23? And then just read them later on?
Sorry about the long-winded post. Thanks for any and all help.
