Passed 70-271

I just passed 2 hours ago with a score of 800.

I was really worried last night and this morning. I have 2+ years of Help Desk experience but I was scoring 60-70%ish on practice tests.

At the last minute, I started skimming through the MS press book. I think that helped a bit. I was able to get some key points that the Sybex book didn't really cover.

Resources used:

Sybex MCDST Deluxe (read 2 times)
Examcram 2 bundle (read 2 times)
MS Press book (skimmed through it in a store 2 hours before exam

)
Forums/sites: techexams.net, mcmcse.com, proprofs.com
Various practice tests and study guides

On the test, I had a lot of questions about permissions, DNS, and Remote Assistance/Desktop.

Now on to 70-272!

Thanks for the information about the resources you used to study for the exam. I have the MCDST Deluxe book by Sybex the authors are Bill Ferguson and Bill Causey, MS Press book both (70-271 and 272). The ExamCram 2 bundle I don't have right now. I'll get it soon.

What practice test exams you used?

I mainly used Transcender and the practice tests on the CDs that came with the mentioned books.
Those practice tests were much harder than the actual test in my opinion.

If you can score pretty well on those, you should do fine on the real thing.

I'm taking 272 on Friday. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Hi tomtech, when you said you read the Sybex book twice, did you read the entire book or just the first 6 chapters covering the 70-271 exam?
