If i pass the 640-801 exam this year or passed the new 640-802 exam, i will be ccna certified in 2007, will they both expire in 3 years, they both give you ccna certification, is there any difference in doing one or the other exam this year?

    kovo,

Wow, have you been studying serial connections too deeply there mate? :) Here's the deal. If you take and pass the 640-802 CCNA exam on 1 August 2007, which is the first day you can take the exam, then you will earn your Cisco Certified Network Associate certificate that will expire on 1 August 2010. If you take and pass the 640-801 CCNA exam on 6 November 2007, which is the last day you can take the exam, then you will earn your Cisco Certified Network Associate certificate that will expire on 6 November 2010.

The biggest difference I would imagine between the two exams is the availability and maturity of study materials. There are many up to date Cisco Press, Sybex and other study materials for the 640-801 CCNA exam. Currently, the only study materials that I know for the 640-802 CCNA exam is the 640-802 CCNA exam outline.

    I hope this helps.

    640-801 & 640-802 differences

As I said in that post -- some knowledge of Security and IPv6 has been added to the exam. But some some stuff has also been removed.

But if you pass either one -- you're a CCNA for the next 3 years.

Check out the video in the CCNA Prep Center.
According to the CCNA Prep Center, under the |Overview| tab, under the "Featured Content" section of the CCNA Prep Center homepage, there is a "Just Announced: CCNA and CCENT Certification Overview" where you can click on the _Watch the Video_ link to watch a presentation about the new CCNA and CCENT certification programs.

Yes gaby...there is an ICND1 and an ICND2, which you can take separately..these replace INTRO and ICND in 801.

I'm not 100% sure if the study material has been published as yet...
