In Bill Ferguson's book, MCDST copyright 2006 Chapter 1 under Exam Essentials, he indicated for the exam I need to know the locatoin of files on the windows cd and internet.

Are the files located in the I386 folder? I really don't know about the internet file location.

I need some help in this those you have studied the book "update deluxe edition MCDST 70-271 and 272 by Bill Ferguson and Bill Causey

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

He means: know how to run the Upgrade Advisor from the CD, and know the location online you can download the program from.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/upgrading/advisor.mspx

    is what I am assuming.

"Note Windows XP Setup automatically runs the Upgrade Advisor tool when you upgrade from a previous Windows operating system to Windows XP. You can also run the Upgrade Advisor tool manually by clicking Check System Compatibility on the Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP page that appears after you insert your Windows XP CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. You can also download the Upgrade Advisor tool from the Microsoft Web site that is listed in the "More Information" section of this article."
