Studying for ICND1/CCENT with Intro book

There is a project coming up that I need to get up to speed on Cisco technology. I purchased the Intro book from Cisco Press a couple of years ago, but did not follow through with the test. I plan on picking up the ICND1 book when it is released, but that looks like it will be late on August.

If I start reviewing the material in the Intro book will that cause confusion when I start into the ICND1 book?

No I don't think it will 'cause confusion'. Some thing are removed, some things added, but it's not likely you will pick up info from the Intro book that will actually cause confusion or make it hard to switch to the new book. Especially if you use the CCENT/ICND1 objectives as your main guideline you should be fine.
