binding NIC for redundancy

Hi There,

Will anyone will let me know how to binding NIC for redundancy so that two nic will have the same ip addr. So if one nic is damanged other one will take over.

No it is not related to cisco but if anyone can let me know it will grt for me

Are you talking about in a PC? a server? What sort of equipment?

I think what you're looking for would be network card teaming and etherchannel/link state tracking on the Cisco switches

lokee's got it... nic teaming. Intel cards have this ability... it's what we use in our Dell blades.

It's called Adapter Fault Tolerance, where each nic in the team connects to a different switch... only one nic is functional, but if either the nic or the switch goes down, the other steps in.

Thanks it is related to server, we have an hp server on which the system admin is installing exchange 2003. Their are two NIC port on the server ,they both are connected to different blade of the switch thats right. But when i asked him he let me know that they will be having same ipaddr and if one goes down other will work. I want to know how can we achive it.
